Gurbaksh Chahal: Developing New Online Shopping Solution “GWallet”

© By: Dave Smith
Gurbaksh Chahal is no stranger to entrepreneurship. A millionaire by the age of 18, he founded the online ad network “ClickAgents” and sold it to ValueClick for $40 million. In January 2004, he launched his second company “BlueLithium”. BlueLithium is next generation in Internet advertising. The company was focused on data, optimization, and analytics and became a pioneer of behavioral targeting.

BlueLithium was named one of the top 100 private companies in America three years in a row by AlwaysOn, and in 2006, received the highest honor as Top Innovator of the Year. (Previous winners included Google, Skype, and Salesforce.com.) On September 4th, 2007, Yahoo! announced that it was acquiring BlueLithium for $300 million in cash.

In late 2007, Chahal was picked up by the renowned William Morris agency and is slated to star in an upcoming network TV show. The show’s premise is still under wraps, but it is set to be nationally syndicated on a major network in fall 2008.

Also, ensuring he leaves no cultural medium unexplored, “G” has signed a book deal with Palgrave Macmillan to publish his memoir, "The Dream”. It will detail his story of the successful creation of two Internet-based companies worth more than $340 million by the age of 25, highlighting his key experiences involving motivation, risk, discipline, and courage in the pursuit of his aspirations. Starting out as a kid with just $25 and a high school dropout, G defied all odds to become an entrepreneurial success. His inspiring book will be distributed in 2008.

Not content to cool his heels after selling ad network BlueLithium to Yahoo!, founder and entrepreneurial guru “Gurbaksh Chahal ” is rejoining the technology game with gWallet, a new ecommerce solution. The company is in the final stages of funding and is set to launch in summer 2008.

As the nation faces a time of economic uncertainty, gWallet is designed to help mitigate the financial burden of purchasing goods with an easy to use online platform that helps shoppers find the best deals on the Web.

Gurbaksh Chahal is accustomed to risk. That’s how the 25-years-old Indian American raised in San Jose built an Internet fortune for himself, and he is not going to stop taking chances any time soon.
